About Mennonite Central Committee

MCC Thrift & Gift is part of a network of shops owned by Mennonite Central Committee Ontario. Since 1920, Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) has lived by their mission to impact disadvantaged people through their work in relief, development and peace.

Locally in Ontario, we work with refugee resettlement, people in poverty, Indigenous and Low German communities and restorative justice. From our Kitchener warehouse, we ship material aid like health and relief kits overseas to places like Syria, Jordan and Lebanon.

Globally we work with communities impacted by conflict and natural disasters in 72 different countries. We are meeting needs at a basic level through our partners as we provide food aid, agricultural assistance, education and we work toward bringing peace to areas of conflict. We are deeply aware that we could not do any of this work without strategic partners, donors and shoppers like you. To learn more about our work go to www.mcco.ca

MCC’s priorities in carrying out its purpose are disaster relief, sustainable community development and justice and peace-building.

MCC approaches its mission by addressing poverty, oppression and injustice – and their systemic causes; accompanying partners and the church in a process of mutual transformation, accountability and capacity building; building bridges to connect people and ideas across cultural, political and economic divides; and caring for creation.

MCC values peace and justice. MCC seeks to live and serve nonviolently in response to the biblical call to peace and justice. MCC values just relationships. MCC seeks to live and serve justly and peacefully in each relationship, incorporating listening and learning, accountability and mutuality, transparency and integrity.
